JJJ van der Linde (BFN , Free State) is having a very successful 2021 season with 4 BPF Federations wins and 3 BPF Combine wins under their belt thus far . That being said they also have two pigeons any fancier can only dream of , "TURF QUEEN" and "CHECKMATE" .

The 7th of August "CHECKMATE" was sent to Prince Albert road 605km . This day turned out to be a relatively still day but with hot temperatures in the karoo.Two birds broke away from the Bloemfontein Federation & Combine by a couple of minutes and "CHECKMATE" was one of them winning the Derby Federation and combine . James van der Linde recalls that "CHECKMATE" trapped like lighting and ran through the trap as if he knew what the game is all about ! Fast forward 8 days to the second Prince Albert race of the season , "CHECKMATE" was sent back again . Troubled weather conditions delayed the release to Sunday the 15th . This day turned out to be cloudy and windy after the rain and snow . Never the less after 8hours and 4min on the wing he arrived again the first pigeon for team JJJ van der Linde and won the Federation and combine for the second time in two consecutive weeks ! What a pigeon !

"TURF QUEEN" is currently the 1st Ace pigeon after 12 races in the BPF Combine for 2021 with 6 more weeks to go. She is bred out of the foundation lines of JJJ van der Linde . These lines are the proven , tried and tested pigeons out of the De Rauw-Sablon and Tomlock lines . Many of these same lines did not perform for JJJ but with selective breeding and strict race selection they have got down to the best of the best from these lines and made them their own ! They have some of the best Tomlock & De Rauw-Sablon pigeons in South Africa !
These same lines as "CHECKMATE" and "TURF QUEEN" are the pigeons that perform well for JJJ van der Linde in One Loft races ! Top pigeons that can do well in union racing and One Loft racing !
